People talk a lot about how AI uses energy but not about how every post, comment, video, vote, email, saved file, etc uses energy. It adds up. 70% of it passes through my hometown🥳

I’m agreeing with you. I see so many people complaining about AI energy use without any awareness of all the other internet energy use that’s actively polluting my hometown and straining our utilities (or runs on diesel generators when utilization is too high). I’m glad you brought up the energy use of the internet.
