I find it really performative seeing other straight and bi women joke about hating their boyfriends or men. Esp when they do it around lesbians or queer women who are dating women. It just feels kinda attention seeking to me

I mean sometimes I'll be like I hate men but also I want one type of thing. bc theres so many awful ones but I am still straight. but I wouldn't joke about hating my bf if I had one.

Please don’t come under this thread commenting nonsense or you will be blocked, I don’t have time to coddle feelings. If you feel called that’s a you problem.

Such a bad take. Like yall always have something to say about us bi people. I’m bi I wouldn’t joke about hating my bf if I had one but I do hate men for valid reasons as does other bisexuals. Just because you misinterpret it has nothing to do with us. If you’re not bi why are you worried about it. My comment is truly no hate but us bisexuals already get so much hate for the dumbest things and so many stereotypes. I’m just saying yall have got to watch what you say and how you word things.

I guess my next question is why do ppl feel the need to constantly do this around lesbians/queer women dating other women? Like why constantly hate on something you desire so badly if you know you’re gonna go for it anyway?

hmm that's a valid point. I feel like for me I end up talking about it around lesbians/queer women bc a good amount of my friends are lesbians or women dating/interested in dating women and they're who I trust to talk with about this kinda stuff. For me it's not so much I hate all men all the time it's more like I hate that so many of them are evil and I hate those ones but I really hope I can find one that's actually a good person and meets my standards. does that make sense?

That makes sense I guess it’s a weird spot to be in when you feel attracted to men but also have to deal with the ways in which they’re socialized under patriarchy that cause some of them to perpetuate harm towards women. But I think I’m also frustrated with so many conversations I have with straight women/bi women just talking about men in general bc I feel like these convos never go anyway, it’s kinda the same thing rehashed if that makes sense

Idk I think I just need more lesbian friends or queer women who date other women bc I find them more relatable or at least like our experiences align more

yeah its a bit of a tough spot. But I can see how that would get really annoying or people might just be really fake with it. I hope you're able to find more friends that relate more with you!
