he was an influencer and regardless if anyone supported him or not he was monumental in helping the youth to speak about their political beliefs and find which side they lean more towards, whether you are liberal or conservative.

Just out of curiosity, how was suicide factored into the statistics in that study? I live in a red state and know an unfortunate amount of people (several were men in smaller and rural areas) that committed using a gun

Hi! No I get it happy to talk :) I don’t think the stars factor that in, but it’s acknowledged in the article. That article specifically is primarily just about deaths caused by guns, so death by suicide does count towards that. There are other articles that talk more about the political ideologies of mass shooters, and they are primarily going to be far right extremists. I think it was mentioned that they’re generally white supremacy based too?

Good to know. I saw the other sections that were about murder and mass attacks, I was just curious about how the statistics (mainly in the section this comment is attached to) may have been affected by suicides and if that article addressed it. Unfortunately it’s very common method around here due to firearm access and effectiveness, along with the over all mental health crisis
