This is a super common side effect of copper IUDs. Hopefully it eases off, but it’s possible that it won’t. If it continues to be unbearable, consider switching to a hormonal IUD, as they’re much less likely to increase period pain.

this only happened to me once i stopped my birth control but i was told it was my body adjusting to the hormone shift so it could be the same for u just like reverse scenario esp if this is ur first period with it
