is it wrong of me to break up with my bf because i just am not feeling it anymore and i just don’t really see a future with him. especially with the political atmosphere now. like i’m a dem but it’s like he’s been radicalized to FAR left. like :(

you are allowed to end a relationship for any reason whatsoever. no one is entitled to a relationship with you

things happen and u realize you can’t grow with someone. if you can’t see a future with him it’s time to go and if your political values just don’t line up at all then do what’s best for you

id agree but i feel i may not have given enough context. i am just not happy with someone who has so much hatred to the people. they are misinformed and are radicalized themselves. but he just rants and rants and constantly complains about everything happening. and while i agree and empathize, having these same conversations with him over and over again do nothing to help and only spread the negativity. i may not know the next best thing to do but i just can’t keep doing this part

yeah it’s just difficult because i feel like it’s not enough to justify “giving up” but i know it’s more of just letting go in a way but it just feels like it would be morally wrong for me to do that for some reason

it’s hard to deal with and i’ve been in a tough spot with my bf for a couple months now because you really really do want to make it work and things are good but at the end of the day it’s not your future and that holds you back tremendously. that’s okay! it’s not giving up, its called growing up and moving on i think
