Fun fact: i never used to get them bc I didn’t have the virus since I was too disgusted to share stuff with people since a young age. Around Nov 2023, my emotionally abusive ex (we had just started our relationship) kissed me without telling me he had the virus while he had a cold sore. I got the virus and my whole mouth got infected to the point that I couldn’t eat or drink anything for weeks and went on antibiotics. He later said that I didn’t get it from him and got it from ‘sleeping around’
I rarely see men get them, I kinda wanna deep dive into genetics / nutrition / and stress to find why. Like this feels very disproportionate for it being like over half the population technically. Even my family and friends who definitely have been infected with the virus (kids sharing stuff yk) never show it.
I do feel very sorry for you. You seem tired have a really bad reaction to the virus or which ever strain he gave you on your immune system. I first knew I had them back in 3rd grade I think and I was home for a full 2 weeks. My entire mouth/chin area up into my nose was one sore. Now I get them based on factors I try to manage but never know for certain. Food. Stress. Diet. Sun. Exercise. Too much AND too lite mess with me so I basically just don’t do anything new now.
