Most cops aren’t bad. The media pushes the few bad because it gets the most clicks. I’d like to think most people go into the force to help people. You can’t just make a generalization about a group of people like ā€œall ____ are____ā€. It’s just like the super conservative people going ā€œall gay people are pedophilesā€. We know that’s simply not true.

Its not the same as homophobia lol cops and law enforcement as an institution creates, justifies, and perpetuates so much injustice and death, regardless of if individual cops have good intentions and practices

I didn’t say it’s the same as homophobia. I’m saying the generalizations relate in the same way. Generalizations are NOT fact. It’s basic psychology. And you think I don’t know that? The system is broken and it takes good people to change it. Why are you so against me trying to help people? Most cops are good people. People in every profession mess up but somehow you always bring it back to police officers. Even though firefighters and surgeons and all the other people have been caught doing

terrible shit. I don’t see anyone going ā€œall male nurses are badā€ or something? Or ā€œall African American people drink grape juiceā€? Or ā€œall white people don’t season their chickenā€?

I’m getting a literal degree in this field. You think I don’t understand this. The system, historically, has been so messed up, but that doesn’t mean I can’t desire to bring about change.

ā€œFolks like youā€ buddy I didn’t do anything. And I don’t lick anyone’s boot. Again, you’re just making shallow generalizations based on what exactly? I’m still in college, I’m not even on the street. If you believe in ACAB, you’re just as bad as those who draw awful conclusions about people based on feelings and the media. The media is NOT an accurate source of info all the way around. There are different types of journalism, too. The world is NOT black and white. I will serve my duty to the

It’s my career choice and I feel very strongly about what I’m doing. I might go into forensics instead but for now, this is where I’m going. This is my path and you don’t have to agree with it. I will grow where I am planted. I have been called to do this job and if I can help people, that’s enough for me. My impact will not go unnoticed and my life won’t mean nothing. I don’t care if you or whoever disapproves of my career choice, I do it because I know I am strong, hardheaded, and I will speak

up for other people. I’m a loud mouth, I will admit, and that can be put to good use. I can have a voice for people who don’t. Not to mention this job opens up higher level opportunities for me. Any place you go will have a fucked system. America is chock full of ā€˜em. They’re all killing us one way or another whether is greedy corporations & climate change, insurance companies, or officers abusing power. Just know that I will not be a pawn in that. I can be involved in the system and make an

impact from inside. In fact, people should want others to make change from the inside. That’s where the real problem will get sorted out. ā€œThe room where it happensā€, man. So don’t sit here and tell me my life aspirations and work will be meaningless. You may not know my name but the people I serve in and out of duty will. Change has to start small. It doesn’t just ā€œkaboom! system isn’t fucked anymore. New rules!ā€. Small communities and things at the local level are where people gotta start.
