this is going to ruffle some feathers but i’m going to say it: you cannot treat people like garbage and worship god at the same time. let me say it again… you. cannot. treat. people. like. garbage. and. worship. god. at. the. same. time.

AMEN. especially if you’re a Christian. the second greatest commandment, according to the Bible, is literally to love your neighbor as yourself

you totally can and people do all the fucking time. discrediting their belief doesn’t make them less real or dangerous or stupid

my point is that don’t call yourself loving and religious when you use the bible to treat people like shit. that’s what i’m saying.

loving sure but religion doesn’t automatically make you kind or good or even a better person despite what most religious people would like to believe

yes… but what i’m saying is- is that these people claim to be religious and worship god yet they treat everyone in their path like a piece of shit. you don’t get to call yourself religious and god worshipping if you’re actively doing things against what his word says. i’m not religious by any means, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

but you totally do get to call yourself religious and worship god because people who believe in god don’t always perfectly follow the bible and can believe in god and have their own conception of what that means even if it makes the world a worse place

i think you’re taking what i’m saying way too literally. yes they can call themselves religious all they want and that’s their choice but that doesn’t mean it’ll look that way from another perspective. if you claim to be religious and you treat people like shit alongside that you’re just straight up in the wrong. that’s what i’m trying to say…

exactly. even the Bible talks about how you’ll know someone is a Christian by their fruits, which are the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control). too many people have lost the plot, i fear :/

even then, you can choose to do whatever you want while also respecting the fact that people may not do the same as you generally speaking.
