a lot of colonizers see them as sexually desirable targets and they have less systems in place to protect them.

I can’t say for certain but it might also be because tribes have their own legal court which usually aren’t as well off as federal and state courts

it’s a large part of the institutionalized oppression they experience to this day, their cases take longer to be reported and they also experience higher rates of dv, SA, drug and alcohol abuse, and other problems that all compound to make the issues worse
