Mission trips to developed countries aren’t mission trips, they’re glorified Bible camps.

The whole idea that these people are incapable of taking care of themselves is rooted in racism if they really wanted to help they wouldn’t be spending thousands of dollars to send white people out to do things if they wanted to help, they would send them resources so they could do it how they chose to

As an ex Christian that went on mission trips I don’t know how to feel about this. I genuinely thought I was doing God’s work at the time. I still think of the needy , I’m just doing it differently now by volunteering , donating and educating myself. Everyone starts somewhere, give them grace :)
