I know not every school offers home-ec, but… stuff’s not hard to pick up from talking to others and asking questions. Or, y’know, finding the answers in a book or online. Things you absolutely learn in school and can apply on your own.

Exactly. I’m all for adding more classes but the way the parents say it should be done is that I need to stop my English class to teach kids about taxes

Right!? They expect teachers to teach them how to synthesise medications, perform an open heart surgery, fix and build cars from scratch, discover Atlantis, and yet can’t even help get classroom supplies which often come out of the instructor’s own small paycheque. Get it together, folks. 😭

My highschool core classes… I finished them and all my extras and could have graduated a year early. Most of my class was done with our state requirements early on. We could have easily have worked classes in like home ec or stuff about taxes, etc! (I know that’s not the same across the board but… it’s still not an impossibility!)
