I get plastic surgery for people that like got disfigured or transition or other medical needs but i genuinely don’t understand people choosing to do optional cosmetic surgeries. Like surgery is a big stresser on a body even just the anesthesia for it.

If people genuinely want to do it for cosmetic reasons then their choice, but it frustrates me that they market it as empowering or feminist. Then strut those false features, just reinforcing the unrealistic standards that pushed them to surgically alter their bodies in the first place. It’s like, I understand how u got to that point with the amount of pressure society puts on appearance. But why r we allowing that pressure to continue and calling it feminism?
