And on this point, Could someone who identifies as a Muslim & wears the hijab give some insight bc I hear many say its not oppressive religion towards women but then Muslims will ridicule and say youre haram if you choose not to wear the hijab?/gen
i dont trust any religion that has different rules for men and women

IMO its not the wearing of it itself that i find oppressive, i actually really like the idea of everyone wearing smth like that and interacting with eachother based on something other than looks first, but knowing that the origins of it are purity, only for women, and they have to wear it only around men, make it really icky imo

if it were a thing everyone wears whenever in public, that they take off only once they really know someone’s spirit, and that they take off when they prey, then id find the whole thing really beautiful. that being said tho, i do think some people choose to do it for right and valid reasons
