I don’t have anything against Swifties but the comments that are like “Ong I’m sobbing I’m so happy for her” or I saw one “omg it’s like watching my older sister get everything she’s always deserved!” Like you don’t know her! 😭 seems crazy to cry over it

Most people who say “I’m sobbing” don’t mean it literally btw

Parasocial relationships go crazy like yes she’s part of your life but the line has to be drawn somewhere

As a Swiftie, I do agree but can I kind of explain a perspective? Taylor has been a big part of my life since 2006. The interviews, movies, tours, and of course, all the music. She has an eloquent way of stating exactly how you’re feeling through every stage of life, so yes it is honestly like growing up with her. It’s def weird to some, but understandable as someone who’s been resonating with her music for almost 20 years.

It’s also so conveniently timed with the release of her new album and start of football season it’s obviously orchestrated for us

I’m a swiftie and I’ve always drew a line. I don’t know her but I relate to her music. We’ve seen her through heartbreaks through music & more. It’s more of a deep connection to the music (at least for me) and since she has written nearly are her music about her own life, people feel like they know her. Yes, there are hardcore parasocial swifties out there but there are good ones too. If that all makes sense

I know but I fear the comments did mean it literally

I totally get deeply relating to her music. while it may not be my taste, obviously she’s a superstar so she has countless fans, but I feel like it’s weird when it’s people acting like it’s a beloved family member that’s gotten engaged.
