Crazy how you can go from 8 lbs to 140 lbs throughout child hood and grow 3-4 ft without a single stretch mark, but the second you gain 10 lbs in adult life BOOM stretch marks galore

i’m a literal stick but I got growing stretch marks all across my back and thighs from growing 5 inches in one summer also, just having a higher likelihood for stretch, marks can be genetic

When we’re young it’s more gradual so the skin’s elasticity integrity isn’t compromised

I’m pretty indifferent to my stretch marks, i thought everyone had them…i didn’t realize it made to many people self conscious. I have them all over my body. I guess I’m thankful i don’t feel bad about it

I’m tall and used to be super skinny so I got them as a teenager after finally getting to a healthy weight. I really don’t mind them tho

It’s kinda the same way you can fall out of a tree and then go play soccer as a kid but have a stiff neck for a week from having a bad pillow as an adult. Our bodies r simply deteriorating 🤷‍♀️ but stretch marks aren’t a bad thing, and a lot of us actually did get them throughout childhood lmao. They also fade over time. Don’t waste time worrying abt them, just live life 🫶

I hated that so much when I was 14. So tough to see literally no growth in my ass but I have all the stretch marks all over my hips as if I should have an ass lmao

Your skin also starts to lose elasticity as you age

Personally I just grew up with a very insecure mother who always thought she was never pretty enough so I’m working through that. I wish it was more normalized so young girls wouldn’t think so negatively about their bodies
