that’s not correct. “matriarchy” is not the proper term. the actual concepts are matriLINEAL and matriFOCAL. NOT matriarchal. Matrilineal societies trace ancestry through the mother (who life naturally traces through anyway) and are centered around reciprocity, creation, and stewardship which are staples of non-hierarchical society. patriarchy on the other hand traces power and control through the father aka the patriach who must artificially be placed first via hierarchy to justify it
