Bc they like the idea of having somebody to have that “connection” with without putting in the actual work or commitment for it

that but also it’s considered not masculine to express emotions so it likely feels really good for them to be in a space to express emotions where it’s socially acceptable. not justifying the behavior but that is the explanation in many cases
