Buddy my insurance is great and I still have empathy for those who don’t. It’s not that simple. Not all jobs provide insurance, and the ones who do are harder to get. My insurance is amazing. Having a baby can be up to $100k I’m going to have to cover way more than 5k for the hospital alone. This does not include the thousands of dollars of baby items needed prior to the baby’s birth such as: a crib, changing station, diapers, sippy cups, milk warmer, breast pump, female “diapers”, baby clothes, bath stuff, baby proofing equipment, medicine (born for mom and baby), baby oil, formula if your baby cannot have milk(but you’d still need the breast pump),prenatals

As someone actively pregnant and ready to meet my little nugget one day, they’re not a baby yet. They look like a literal alien, they have no way of surviving outside of my uterus, if anything happens to them now it’s before they have a soul, before they have a brain to know who I am or what they are, and that helps me sleep at night with all of the risks that occur early on to know that if they can make it to grow long enough they will one day be a baby.
