if u can make time to play with them daily, feed them and clean their litter box then u can be a cat mom quite easily. ofc not all cats will be healthy forever, make sure u can afford annual vet trips and look into foods that are good for them/ dental health. having a pet means they could get sick and u have to ultimately decide if u can support it if that were to happen/ be ready to take on the financial work. also cat trees are highly recommended and scratching posts.
My roommates have cats! You take them to the vet once a year for shots (more if you get a kitten) and that can be pretty cheap if you can find a good place. I know my local humane society does them for cheap. You obviously spend money on food (I would buy wet food over kibble) and litter. And then you’ll just have little expenses like toys and nail clippers and stuff
