Sometimes I wear a cross necklace as an atheist, but it’s because it’s my dead grandmas and she wore it everyday. I also don’t like that it makes me look religious, I like looking like a safer space than that. But sometimes you gotta just exist as yourself ungoverned by how you’ll be perceived.
Christian here! not to condemn you or anything but if you’re wearing a cross for fashion why don’t people wear a david’s star necklace as fashion too even if they’re not Jewish? if you don’t believe in what the message behind the cross is you shouldn’t wear it. if it’s a gothic cross though that’s fine in my opinion but obviously do what you want just putting my 2¢
but it’s what it represents. a cross literally represents Christianity whether you want to believe it or not. i mean obvi do what you want, but you said yourself you don’t like how a cross has you associated with us Christians yet you’re still choosing to wear it. it’s easy to just not wear one or at least wear a gothic one but it’s your life
see i agree the christians get REAL mad from what ive seen on social media but tbh i think its crazier to be a christian in this day and age especially as a woman. literally saw a post that a planned parenthood was shutting down and a literal church commented “come to our service this sunday if you want to celebrate” like what the FUCK
Literally that’s the problem with like the told rn politics and religion are becoming too intertwined when there was supposed to be a separation bw church and state in the first place- it just adds to the mass polarization that our nation is now struggling with which doesn’t help anyone solve like real issues bc we’re too busy fighting eachother
