Sometimes I wear a cross necklace as an atheist, but it’s because it’s my dead grandmas and she wore it everyday. I also don’t like that it makes me look religious, I like looking like a safer space than that. But sometimes you gotta just exist as yourself ungoverned by how you’ll be perceived.

i only wear gothic crosses because those are more associated with alternative culture than actual religion atp, but it fits my style and ik it wouldn’t fit everyone

Literally that’s the problem with like the told rn politics and religion are becoming too intertwined when there was supposed to be a separation bw church and state in the first place- it just adds to the mass polarization that our nation is now struggling with which doesn’t help anyone solve like real issues bc we’re too busy fighting eachother

I’ve been berated and harassed (and even threatened) by christians my entire life for being Queer. The entire doctrine is incredibly toxic at its core in SO many damn ways. They can’t even agree with each other, why would I bother with that? 😂

no, being a christian at this point is like being friends with someone who’s toxic and abusive. even if you’re not participating in the behavior, you’re enabling and showing support for it by aligning yourself with the group that does it and supporting the institution of christianity.

I don’t hate all christians. I hate your mythology and how it’s been used to control and harm billions of people and is continuing to do so. I’ve read a number of versions of the bible front to back and it’s an awful book when you’re not spoonfed the flowery bits.
