And sorry I don’t know the full context, but unless it’s a job that you have to have a lot of direct verbal communication with clients/other organizations then saying “like” a lot shouldn’t matter. Personally for my job I had to learn to stop saying “like” so much and start talking like an old person lmao you just have to learn the corporate language unfortunately 😭
it’s for a position as an ESL teacher. for reference, i have significant experience and base it on pedagogical research. i was using filler words because i was trying to explain several learning theories to my interviewers when they asked about it, which made me need to figure out how to phrase things exactly and simplify them. i always speak to my students slowly and carefully, unless they’re more advanced and need my pace to match native speaker levels for practice
