everytime i start my period and have to go into work while in excruciating pain, i think about the fact that if men had periods, they would at least get off of work for the first day of it. like wdym im holding back vomit and gripping the table in pain😭

i’m so convinced if men had periods they would be able to make symptoms less severe. but we’re women so our medical research is like 10% of theirs

This literally happened to me. I got my period at work and had to leave because i was in so much pain that i was throwing up. It was awful.

I will die on this hill but if they got periods, they could have their entire period off

Hey girl, if you’re vomiting from periods that means something is actually wrong! That’s not normal! I went to my doctor about it for years and they always said “it’s just cus you’re young” but finally when I was 20 they gave me a pill that completely stops all my periods for as long as I take it and I haven’t had one since

I’m in pain and nauseous the whole time too. Trying to work during a heat wave and do summer college is BRUTAL.

the fact that a man will never wake up with cramps and need to get to a two hour long 8am exam💔

yes I second this. if the pain is so bad it interferes with your quality of living please say something to your gyn! if they dismiss you find a new doctor 😭

take like 1-2 ibuprofen a day and use a heating pad for sure. it works wonders

have you seen your gyno about the pain? it may be something more than just period pain if it’s that bad. wishing you all the best

if therer is something that looks like its bulging in your pelvic region, then its a hernia. i had that happen to me once. i had what felt like period pain, and i went to see a doctor bc it was bulging, and it was a hernia so i had to have surgery.

absolutely not, i have pcos and still have never thrown up from period cramps. i would bring up how extreme the pain is and dont stop until someone sends you for a test/ takes you seriously

Talk to your doctor about norethindrone, “the mini pill”, it’s birth control but without the estrogen in it. It has no placebo week and is way less likely to have negative side effects. I have 0 negative side effects. The estrogen in other types is what causes most of the problems for people.

i will say the vomiting isn’t so much from the pain as much as i just get nauseous!

All they’re going to do is prescribe you birth control thon so if you wanted something else you have to figure out out yourself 😒

In all fairness, the only options are really birth control, pain meds, or in really extreme circumstances, a hysterectomy. There could be some lifestyle changes that might help a bit but in cases like this, I doubt they wouldmake an extreme difference. There are plenty of docs that want to help but the issue is that there isn't enough research or available treatment options.

Also forgot to mention that if the issue lies in hormones you might be able to get hrt, but that is often done through hormonal birth control

yeah it was the same way for me, doesn’t make it normal tho LOL, no matter the reason if your period is making you nauseous that is a bad thing. I hope you can find something that works 🖤
