it’s because tourists destroy their economy and push the locals out of homes bc businesses buy up the land to accommodate more tourists. so it’s not just a “ugh why are you in my country” anger it’s a “you are great worsening my quality of life and robbing me of my homeland” anger

and i travel frequently and i am from a tourist area so i understand not liking tourists but they’re very vocal about it

i do understand that and i’m cherokee so i understand the frustration and i wish tourism didn’t mess up economies so much bc it’s such a cool thing
