For context, it wasn’t with a hookup. My partner has HSV1 from childhood like you mentioned. We were drunk on Halloween and forgot about a sore she had that was still active. Maybe we’ll get lucky and nothing will come of it, but also part of me is just glad we managed to go 3 years without me getting infected. Thank you for your advice and anyone reading should definitely take your advice to get tested regularly!!
