is $1000 a realistic total budget for a 5-day trip to puerto rico? including flights, hotel/airbnb for 6-ish people, food, going out, etc?

this is my friend’s budget not mine, at first she said $700 but i looked and that barely covers flights and a place to stay

Tbh I’d recommend a cruise instead.. they’re usually less expensive because they’re usually all inclusive (aside from food/drink which I assume y’all’d pay for separately anyway). You still get to go there and probably see multiple places rather than staying at one resort and paying for a car. Maybe it’s comparable, idk! I feel like they leave more wiggle room for everyone to spend on extras like going out as it fits their own budget

yeah i agree, plus she also wants to do hikes and stuff where we’d have to rent a car to get there and we’re all under 25 so that will be super expensive too. also ik money is tigher for her than the rest of us but sometimes she acts like i’m the literal 1% and it pisses me off tbh

+ they sometimes have clubs on the ship and all inclusive drink bands you can buy for the whole trip. Which I think can be expensive but ultimately end up amounting to what you’d spend on the drinks anyway. So even when you’re not on land you can “go out” and then also do it whenever you deck somewhere but takes the extra cash to do that
