Being on SNAP doesn’t equate to starving, though. Most of it is to support those at or below the poverty line but also many above it as well. The majority of SNAP is used to support kids, elderly, and disabled folks (who are constantly discriminated against in job searching). The $25b estimate also comes with policy changes, only partly contributing to programs like SNAP, like corrective measure to ensure improved/more stable income, access to more and healthier foods, farm support, etc.
