is it not misogynistic to police and blame women for having romantic attractions to men? is it not male centered to compete with other women on who hates men the most, and then call other women pathetic because they called it out?

talk your shit! It’s actually so disappointing when I see women saying they’re “unfortunately in a relationship with a man”, specifically when the man is a good person. Like that cannot feel good as the guy in that relationship. And I also feel bad for the women who feel the need to say that, as if they need to defend who they happened to fall in love with just because of that person’s gender :/

that type of stuff happens because of the person i’m talking about. oop literally said they would “never stoop low enough to date their oppressor” and that it’s other women’s fault if they choose to date men. they’re also competing with women in their comments on how much they hate men, and called a girl pathetic for pointing it out it’s not a comp. that’s so male centered, but apparently they think they’re woke for it. this type of pseudo activism is performative and anti intellectual

it’s honestly a trend right now for people to try and “out woke” each other but all i’m seeing is people go so far left that they end up right wing or acting like them. like we went from supporting other women to excluding them, and using misogynistic arguments washed with anti-patriarchy rhetoric so they don’t seem bigoted or exclusionary. and people keep falling for it thinking they’re intellectuals

social media was fun from like 2016-2020 and now it's mentally draining. everyone thinks being rude is normal or cool, everything becomes an argument, and most people just recycle the same opinions. i remember when ppl used to post educational tiktoks but now it's been replaced by uninformed discourse

i heard that girl actually ended up being racist tho, it was something unrelated to the original tiktok but i forgot what it was

Oop well, maybe that discourse wasn’t the best example. Either way, I saw someone put it really well; are we all supposed to be media trained now? Obviously it’s easy to not be overtly racist, homophobic, or otherwise a bigot, but people are picked apart for the smallest inflection or facial expression and it’s exhausting.

Like I remember getting absolutely murdered in the comments back when improving curly hair care was a thing around 2019/2020, all because people decided I was culturally appropriating black hair care. I have curly ass hair I just happen to be white 😭

people will move goalposts, create problems that were never a part of real academic discourse, and then mask it as activism when all they really care about is shaming people or turning them into a public spectacle. it makes real causes get taken less seriously because people end up pre-occupied by this kind of discourse. curly hair needs don’t change just because you’re a different race, and you literally can’t appropriate hair care. that’s like saying someone is appropriating korean skin care
