Is waist training not just corseting? Like why do ppl make it sound like something good/beneficial. You are bending your bones and squishing your organs.

It’s not corseting! Corseting is actually for support and not for skinny

But the use of it ended up being for women to look super skinny and wasn't it used in the older days and completely deformed the women's body?

It’s actually a historical misconception that it deformed women’s bodies! Women only tight-laced their corsets for events, similar to a girl now wearing spanx to look skinnier. The biggest reason why they look so skinny in corsets though is because they padded their bust and hips to give an hourglass figure and a lot of pictures/ paintings are edited to make the woman look skinnier. Also waist training is a scam and doesn’t actually do anything lol

It’s important to mention that usually the people tight-lacing their corsets were high class. From my understanding (please correct me if I’m wrong!), the working class ladies rarely tight-laced because it made household chores/jobs harder

You are correct! Corsets actually were made to be very comfortable because they supported the bust and the back. They were basically like a bra if it was actually supportive and made for your exact measurements
