Oh we are definitely having problems. We live on a planet where having babies is precarious for the mother. The mother can d*e during childbirth, and children are growing up in a world with much fewer prospects than their parents and their parents can’t afford to make ends meet, meaning the child, raised with fewer resources, suffers in the long run. So, yes, I would tell Martians that we are certainly having problems on here on earth.

I agree, I would tell them that we are having problems where people who would not be able to support a child in the slightest are participating in something that has the purpose of conceiving a child, knowing that there is a possibility that pregnancy occurs no matter the precautions. And if pregnancy occurs, these people (or just the woman) are choosing to kill their baby that formed because of their own choices. So yes, I’d tell them that we are having problems on earth.

Nobody said it’s ONLY for conceiving children you dense idiot. It is in FACT an ACT that LEADS to children. Unless the two engaging in intercourse are sterile then y’all should definitely keep in mind that you can get pregnant. If you do and you’re worried about being able to take care of it bc of your circumstances THATS YOUR PROBLEM bc you already knew what sex can lead to. Some ppl use abortion as an easy fix rather than dealing with the consequences of said act. 🤷🏽‍♀️

You’re missing the point. Not being able to take care of a newborn child is not an individual problem. It’s a systemic problem. If there were more protections and benefits for expecting / new mothers, and liveable wages, I’m sure more women would want to have children. But here we are with reproductive health care being slashed, cost of rent astronomically high, and the prices for diapers, formula, strollers, car seats, etc. going through the roof.

i like how you speak about abortion like it’s this fun, easy, lighthearted little thing. most people who don’t want to get pregnant are taking precautions to not get pregnant while having sex. abortion are expensive, as well as being physically and mentally taxing. no one getting an abortion is “taking the easy way out” and there’s a lot of shame and guilt surrounding it because of people like YOU

I agree; no on WANTS to have an abortion. But sometimes an abortion is needed. I think people have lots of opinions but at the end of the day, it’s just a medical procedure. And it’s used in a variety of cases like when mothers have miscarriages or other problematic pregnancies. Which happen WAY more often than people realize. Sometimes if a woman doesn’t get an abortion it ruins her chances of ever getting pregnant again.
