actually exact same. we were close and then she spent a couple years in a mental hospital and was really hurtful to everyone in our family and we just haven’t been close since. i sympathize with her but can’t be close after how she treated me

have you tried re-meeting her or is she still the same? just saying she could be a completely different person and a wonderful sister now if you’re open to it but obvi not if she is still treating people poorly

trust me I don’t take basically cutting out a family member lightly. we have given her many olive branches and beyond her mental illness, she’s simply a highly toxic and selfish person to be around and I honestly wouldn’t interact with her ever if she wasn’t my sister. we’re always civil when we meet but closeness is out of the question. she has never and will never apologize for anything
