uhh yes tf it can. how do you think we got here? capitalism is a very recent development relative to the rest of human history. the patriarchy has been alive and well since far before the start of capitalism.

so many things wrong with this take. firstly, blaming consumers for capitalism.. like no. the problem is the greedy corporations who profit off of it and lobby legislation “for the economy”. and where the hell is your data saying that women make up more of the consumer market?? in my personal experience, women buy things they need while men buy random superficial shit. and guess what? the data supports that. remind me again how women are responsible for capitalism.

period products count towards that, and a lot of beauty stuff is marketed to women since they’re taught they need to appeal to unrealistic beauty standards. not everyone falls for the propaganda, but you can’t blame the people who do
