my cat has ran away, and i'm so worried for him :( he's almost 19 and i don't know how long he can be on his own :( any tips on how to get him home, or any kind of reassurance is greatly appreciated❤️‍🩹

idk if this helps but during the summer my friend’s 16 yo cat who’s half blind and has a limp ran away.. we thought she wouldn’t come back after the first week missing. she pulled up to the house a MONTH later your cat will be fine, he’s just adventuring on his own a lil bit :)

look in hiding places around your house. i know this definitely isn't what you want to hear right now but old cats will often run away or hide if they feel like they're going to die

this is good!! anyone who scans it should be able to see you as the owner in the registry. until then, maybe leave treats or food pebbles around so he has something familiar to smell until he makes his way home?

we already have!! but we're concerned that he could he hiding in someone's garage or shed :( he's very shy when it comes to strangers, so he probably won't come out if he doesn't recognise the people close to him

is he vision or hearing impaired at all? his mobility will determine how far he would be able to make it. definitely keep your neighbors and block notified if you can
