Bc it was too late to do that 😅 and I had already settled on attempting a C, but then I started cramming and felt sad bc I actually enjoyed orgo and wished I didn’t waste my semester, especially because it was orgo 2, so it would have been my last time taking it. And wanted to give myself more time to study for thermodynamics
Orgo is a hard class as is tbh. It’s very hard for a lot of ppl to grasp the concept of it or understand enough to do extremely well on the first try. It personally took me until my second attempt in orgo 1 to start grasping to concept of molecular orbitals and hybridization states. It also greatly depends on how good the professor is at explaining things, grading scale, and how content heavy the course is. For my class it was 90% exams, 5% hw and 5% for attendance and lecture questions
Def a hard class but if you’re failing or even close to failing ANY class it’s a skill issue. Professors in stem do suck I’ll admit a lot of the time, but as a college student if you care teach yourself. Orgo is not a class you can get away with not studying or learning the material. I took this class at a very prestigious pre med school with a notoriously difficult chem department and ended with an A-. While the system is to blame, I see SO many people doing other shit with their time getting
…bad grades and then cursing the class. Work life balance is so important in college but orgo is not a class to be fucked with. If you don’t understand the content go to LA sessions, office hours, there are countless opportunities to practice. Even if you have class for some of them I’ve never come across a professor that if you are nice and email them and show your enthusiasm for learning has not been accommodating. Not saying this is the case here, just annoying to see…
