Some of these comments are so awful. As someone who did live in apartments growing up, I was so excited to finally have my own house. It’s so nice to have somewhere you can make it your own without needing approval or being allowed to make a little extra noise on the weekends without worrying about angry downstairs neighbors. Just because OP is grateful for a house doesn’t mean they’re demeaning people that don’t.

I think the only time I lived in a house, was when my mom was alive, which wasn’t long for my life lol. So that means I’ve been living in apartments since I was 4-5 y/o. I would get bullied all the time bc I’d say things like “let’s go in the house” and other kids would remind me that I don’t have a house. I’m still living in an apartment, which I like. But I only want to live in a house bc everyone else’s family lives in one and they see me as poor. Which is fair bc we’re not well-off either

Congratulations! I remember when my parents brought their first house and after all these years we still have a place to come to and live if anything happens and it’s something they own forever.
