One time I mentioned industrial music like skinny puppy under a discussion about goth music and someone jumped on me to say that wasn’t goth, but I think that goth and industrial have a lot of overlap

personally came of age in Seattle in an era where our local goth subculture skewed heavily towards cybergoth / electro-industrial on several fronts (242 of them perhaps), so i never saw these as totally separate terms
seems like that varies a lot regionally though
