are we “kink-positive” in here? how do y’all feel about holding neutral conversations about BDSM (i.e. Not outrageous hornyposting, just calmly discussing the lifestyle as a facet of broader goth subculture) in this group?

From what I’ve seen in this group, they’ve been so negatively polarized by the “e-girlification” of our subculture that they often try to excise sexuality from it entirely. Which I think is also just as much of a misunderstanding of goth culture as the dudes who think it’s just eyeliner and boobalicious tops.

alternative communities have historically been supported by kink businesses and kink and lgbtq subculture however the modern trend of goth fetishization has infested this page and the community and caused very uncomfortable situations

cause I was gonna make an on-topic post about a particular strain of fetishism, but it occurred to me that I’m not sure what the social climate is like in this group wrt discussing sexuality. genuinely don’t wanna alienate anyone

BDSM is cool imo!, and it's nice to know(for me at least) how close alt subcults like Goth share closely tied history w/ BDSM life. it's just a really big issue when people generalize subcultures (esp goth) into "everyone is freaky/kinky" when that's genuinely the dumbest line of thinking ever.

If it’s between consenting adults. I really couldn’t care less, personally.
