Getting a real, genuine passion for the subculture is the best way. Idk what you are going for, but just use goth as an example because you posted here. When you get really familiar with the music it’s rewarding to hear someone mention a band or a song and be like “oh I know that!”. There is gothic literature and film too so getting into that also helps. If you get a passion for what you want to be, you’ll never feel like you are larping again

You should wear what makes you happy and confident, stressing over what other people think is not worth it friend. Start with a few wardrobe pieces or accessories and build from there. You don’t need an overnight metamorphosis
