Tbh I think the over-sexualized and fetishized version of “goth girl baddie” or whatever that we see today came from where e-girls originally started. Somehow I feel like it’s a different version of that and it just has commodified “goth” culture messily glued on top of it.

Imo it's making it alot harder for people to actually take the subculture seriously like most did during the elders time(w/ satanic panic and all that), which in turn I feel is making it harder for people to ACTUALLY get into the subculture for what it is, not the watered down bullshit

So I’m not a goth this just came up on my feed so y’all tell me if I should leave. But I humbly submit my suggestion that y’all spit into two camps: Temu goths/ people who just like the sexualized aesthetic are ostrogoths, and people who participate in the subculture, music, fashion, and values are visigoths.
