no joke, I had a really nightmarish experience one time where a goth artist I like was doing a no-cover fee show at a bar around the time that a nearby sports game let out, and there were a bunch of people who showed up just to drink and started laughing and jeering at them while they were putting their whole heart into performing heavy songs about their own trauma
