I’m new to everything and working on getting some equipment for my home gym (because I’m kind of far from an actual gym) but I’m so overwhelmed… Can someone explain barbells to me? Why are there so many kinds??

this isn’t what you asked for but getting foam padding for the floors is a must for having heavy workout equipment in a room AND makes it so you can comfortably lay on the floor for workouts/yoga without your back hurting ALSO PLEASE BE SAFE IF YOU GET BARBELLS AND MAKE SURE TO HAVE A SPOTTER AND NOT TO WEAR JEWELRY WHEN WORKING OUT (you can deglove yourself with rings on)

I actually got a power cage off Facebook marketplace so I shouldn’t need a spotter as long as I set up the safety bars correctly!! And yes as a longtime climber, I feel very passionately about not getting degloved 😭🙏
