QUESTION TO ALL HARDCORE GYM GIRLIES. Have you lost your period at any point?

Yes I have, I was on a cut for a very long time so I was not eating an adequate amount plus I was doing excessiveeee cardio, like 45 mins to and hour on the stair master EVERY day. I lost my period for a few months but just got it back recently once I started eating a little above maintenance calories.

Not a hardcore gym girly, but I did a pretty hardcore backpacking trip and skipped a period from the intensity of physical activity. I actually don’t think it’s uncommon to skip a period or two if you’re doing super intense exercise for a time! But yeah if the amenorrhea persists long term, your training level is likely unsustainable and unhealthy, and I also question the impact on a number of levels

I’ve lost mine for months at a time it was making me nervous (was on very strict weight loss program)

I understand that everyone’s genetics are different, but I see so many female fitness influencers online that have such rigorous gym routines and lean bodies that I just can’t help but wonder about the consequences it has on their hormonal health.

they have either lost their period or they're the genetic 1% who can be that lean long-term without negative consequences. either way it's not something you should try
