I got into lifting thru sports, but any YouTube video or even watching other people in the gym can help!! just make sure to start light and build up to a manageable weight. Having a mirror helps a lot too for proper form! also, most people at a gym are generally super nice, so don’t feel bad asking for a spotter or if they can teach you an exercise :)
I started from absolute 0 about a month ago and already seeing pretty visible gains!! Start with free weights (<5lbs), imitate basic movements you can find online (can’t go wrong with TikTok tutorials just search arm free weights workout), and do as many reps as you can in one go and build up tolerance from there!
You’ll probably find some strength routines online and follow them, but just know that if you absolutely hate an exercise in a routine, you can substitute it. My biggest hack for being consistent, is doing exercises I liked in the beginning above all else. If I don’t feel like doing Bulgarian split squats, I do step ups instead because they have a similar movement and use the same muscles
I watched a YouTube video and I used Caliber (a mobile app) to help me make a workout plan when I was starting. For each exercise it has an explanation and video demo that’s easy to follow even during the workout at the gym. I’d 100% recommend it —it’s free don’t pay for the premium version
