i lost 60 lbs before lifting just w diet and cardio but the most noticeable changes happened after especially as a beginner, lifting heavy will transform your body.

ur college might have a gym you can go to? also if ur town is at all walkable maybe sticking some headphones in to listen to any school readings u need to do and going for a short walk/run when possible. if its not walkable and u can afford it, buying a walking pad n doing the same has been helpful for me!

Just do it. Trust me. I was in your shoes in July and bit the bullet and signed up. If the gym offers a free personal training session, do it but make it clear you want to learn how to use machines or how to structure a work out. You'll be confused and feel like you look dumb for reading machines and trying and failing, but no one cares or is really watching. Within a few weeks you'll feel confident and making progress is so rewarding

weight loss is based on your diet. the gym is great for your health and appearance but if you just want to lose weight you can do that without working out at all

however long you find it enjoyable is realistically gonna be the best recommendation, bc if u do it further to push urself ur not gonna be consistent, which is more important than whatever the “ideal” is. i think most ppl start out with 20-30 minutes, but again, don’t put too much pressure on urself that u end up losing motivation all over again 💕

Look up Chloe Ting, she makes these free video workouts that are pretty tough but also very effective.
