it's okay to be afraid. that's normal. but don't let fear prevent you from starting something great.

I’ve heard a lot of things about CrossFit having a higher chance of injury versus traditional sports specific lifting. I feel like a lot of run clubs popped up during Covid so you should be able to find partners and a community. My roommate does a run club that goes out for drinks afterwards. You can make it as social or as serious as you want.

In my opinion CrossFit it extremely intense and I wouldn’t have gone at all if it wasn’t a requirement for the sport I was playing at the time

Start off with a basic HIIT class to see if you like it. If you have a crunch fitness near you, they have HIIT classes that are fun and beginner-friendly

I wouldn’t start off with CrossFit, it’s not the safest. But in terms of running and traditional strength training- go for it!!! Everyone who works out started off having never done it before, the only way to change that is by doing it!

hiit is different than weightlifting. it's great exercise but if you want strength or muscle size, it'll be most efficient to lift.

Why do you want to do CrossFit specifically?

i forget that HIIT is more of a cardio thing than weights, bc most of the HIIT classes i have taken at gyms are weights and cardio. that’s why i recommended it as a prereq to crossfit, bc that is also cardio and weight lifting
