just work out in general, weightlifting specifically while in a caloric deficit will help you lose fat

i’ve spent most of my life trying to gain arm and back fat. it’s hot and looks healthy, embrace it. otherwise anything that burns calories works, along with a calorie deficit diet. arm and back resistance training will only make them bigger, which again is a good thing but not everyone agrees w that

i’m a black girl, and growing up i’ve just always been around girls (of all races) who have thinner arms and get to wear shirts with their backs out, but i just looks so wrong on me 😕… i want to learn how to eat healthy with the foods available to me through my school whilst being able to do consistent work out stuff in the free time i barely have

first of all, there’s nothing wrong with you or the way you look! just because you don’t look like other girls doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. you can still wear whatever you want and I’m sure you look good wearing whatever you want. but we can still help with food and workout recs if you truly want that! are you on a college campus eating dining hall food?

yes! so things are very limited… i try to eat salads and minimize the dressing i add, and to maximize my meal plan i do eat at chickfila but i get grilled nuggets and kale crunchy salads. and im not a breakfast person, but ive been trying to be better at eating and have been going to my schools cafe to get eggs, bacon/sasauge and a biscuit

bacon and sausage are high in fat, they’re some of my favorite foods tbh but they’re not great for you to eat regularly. salads are good, do you add chicken or any protein to them? the chickfila meal sounds fine. is that a typical day of eating for you? and do you do any weightlifting or other exercises currently?

i do add chicken to the salads, and i haven’t been able to incorporate a consistent workout schedule but i have dance rehearsals tue/thur in addition to my own dancing outside of rehersals. and when i do homework that persists it i have these light weights that i use to do some kind of arm workouts. im also getting back into an old workout routine i had

your workouts look ok, you could probably incorporate some more upper body workouts to help build muscle up there which will help you lose fat. I’m also not sure if you’re eating enough, everyone always thinks eat less to lose weight, but you still have to eat enough. you need enough food to fuel your body so you can build muscle and be able to properly recover from workouts.

and if you don’t eat enough, your body will compensate by holding onto calories and burning less when you’re at rest so eating too little is not beneficial and can cause you to hold onto fat instead of losing it

i have instant oatmeal packets i can eat, but i wasn’t sure if they were okay because of sugar content and things like that, that way with my meal plan id have b/l/d
