Toning is just losing bodyfat or gaining muscle. You can't workout specifically for "toning"

Your first few times in the gym should just be to get used to the space and environment. Try out different machines or exercises and find ones that you like. Get a feel for the space and know where everything is. Your goal is to lose weight so also experiment with different forms of cardio
