Muscles respond different to different stimuli. (Why u get more sore from a new exercise than more weight on your normal one)

Alarm reaction. Soreness is just your bodies reaction to abnormal stress. It's good for knowing you used the correct muscles but it doesn't have a significance for hypertrophy
