I’ve been feeling very burn out with my weight loss. It’s tiring tbh. I lose and lose and nothing changes. Sure, I wear smaller clothes and maybe look a little different. But lately I’ve heard myself saying “what’s the point?” a lot. Anyone had this?Tips?

Honestly find a way to just enjoy the routine of it, do it because you just feel like working out not because you’re trying to prove something to yourself or the scale. You’ve got good habits just try to keep them and allow yourself the grace to sometimes take a break and enjoy life

Well idk what your goals are, but I used to prioritize losing weight, but now I’m more focused on weight lifting and getting bigger

Honestly, I’ve never liked weight lifting , I cringe every time I’m at the gym and I feel alot of anxiety when I Lift heavy. I lost 30lbs in 4 months by doing HIIT workouts in my garage . I used light weights with more reps and I got very lean. I gained some weight back in college but now Im trying to loose it again and I find that I like going to Pilates and yoga classes as well as doing the HIIT workouts. This way I have a variety of workouts I like and I don’t get bored or anxious.

I was there for a little while. I’ve been losing weight for about a year now, 65+ pounds lost. It was not easy, your brain is going to fuck with you a lot. I lost weight to prove something to myself. I wanted to prioritize myself and show myself that I can commit to something. I had a lot of moments where I thought it was pointless, but now that I can look back on those moments and see how I kept pushing myself I just feel proud. It’s just a hump in the road.

Tips from what I’ve gathered in ops post and comments: Try doing different stuff in the gym. There are a multitude of exercises for each muscle group, and there is probably something you would enjoy. Try making friends to go to the gym with, it makes it infinitely better. Also, it seems like you are doing good job in dieting and eating better, which imo, is the hardest part to get down. Overall, just have variety and change in your schedule and routine, it makes a world of difference

I’ve never dealt with major weight loss but the point is to have a healthier lifestyle, people love you and need you to stick around. I’m so proud of you and all of the hard work you’ve put in!! Keep making and smashing goals!

I feel like I should focus on getting smaller first though bc I’m still big

No reason to do that, if you’re still big that just means you can replace that weight with muscle easier

How do I get myself to enjoy it and actually want to workout? I like my morning walks but my after work gym sessions just feel like a chore that I have to do every day

It might be nice to try lifting in the morning if you already like one type of morning workout, then you can feel proud of yourself for the rest of the day. I got into lifting bc of a class and I really liked that coach but you could also just have a good playlist

I workout because I feel better afterwards. I start my day in the gym and I hold myself accountable the rest of the day. It helps clear my mental state and it helps my body. That’s why it matters for me, not because I “look better”. That’s what you have to find for yourself. I hope this made sense, sorry for rambling

I would but I’m already up at 6 to go for my walk and idk that I could physically get myself out of bed any earlier

can you flip the walk with the gym? that way you go and get the gym out of the way and the walk can be a little reward?

Yeah I get it. It’s just hard. I’ve been doing this for two years at the end of August and I’m down 80lbs. I mean I’m super proud of that don’t get me wrong. I just feel like I still have so far to go and sometimes it feels like nothing has changed and all the work is for nothing

I’ve tried that but the weather in the morning is just so much nicer to be outside. Plus I find that I feel better throughout the day with a bit of fresh air and sun to start in the morning

Like if I don’t feel like doing a super intense workout, I’ll go to a stretch yoga class, and I find reform Pilates to be super fun but it is harder to do a lot because you need a membership for those places and if I wanted to go as much as I wanted I’d have to pay 350 a month 🥲 oh also you can do the hitt workout in an empty room or a functional training section of any gym. Even an empty corner works

(I don’t need a yoga membership because my school offers free yoga classes)

All these videos were like 10 min HIIT workout and I’m like “10 min wtf I’m tryna werrrrrk” so I stupidly clicked on the 30 min one and was too stubborn not to finish
