How hard is it to eat at a calorie deficit with a high protein diet to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time? Or is it a losing battle and I just need to focus at one at a time

It's possible you just have to make sure to track macros

If you're fat it should be easy. If you're already in good shape, just eat more protein. It's possible to lose fat and gain muscle, but the less fat you have the harder it is

Proteins are low calorie, just avoid too many sauces, condiments, etc

I'm a vegetarian and I started loosing weight when I started eating more protein. I was just always a lot more hungry when I was predominantly eating veggies and grains for meals. Where protein actually makes you full.
