
Wall push ups or push ups done at a steep incline either with a barbell on j hooks set at a high height in the rack or bench. You could even do them on the countertop of your bathroom or kitchen. I would not try to progress to a harder variation until you’re able to complete 20-30 reps of the variation with clean form, no arching of the back or contorting of the body to finish a rep. This method also applies to planks too, aim for at least a minute before progressing the variation.
Do these 2-3x a week, for 2-3 sets per workout. I would only pick at most 3 variations that help with developing your push up, so plank variation, push up variation, and at most 2-3 exercises to target core, such as crunches, leg raises, side planks, or russian twists. Make sure they target a different function of the abs, such as rotation/anti rotation, lateral flexion/anti LF, anti extension, and trunk flexion.
